Types of high-temperature tapes include Teflon tape, high-temperature masking tape, green PET high-temperature tape, and high-temperature double-sided tape.

Distinguishing between genuine and counterfeit high-temperature tapes: These tapes consist of two main components-the backing material and the adhesive. Some manufacturers compromise quality significantly to cut costs and lower prices. Counterfeit tapes fall far short of genuine ones in terms of both heat resistance and insulation performance. While genuine tapes often use silicone adhesive coated onto amber PET film, counterfeits may use inferior adhesives that fail to withstand temperatures even up to 150°C. Since many industrial applications do not exceed 260°C-and PET itself has a heat resistance limit of 220°C-these inferior tapes may not be immediately detected in standard use.
High-temperature tapes can be evaluated for authenticity based on the following factors: 1. Odor; 2. Appearance; 3. Residue after burning; and 4. Actual high-temperature testing (exposing the tape to temperatures above 260°C to check for issues such as adhesive residue or shrinkage).
